Characteristics: The
Fine de Bourgogne comes from the distillation of the
wine lees. The resulting alcohol is then left to mature
for at least 10 years before being bottled. The date
of bottling is marked on each bottle.
Tasting: More floral than the marc,
the fine de Bourgogne is also an after-dinner drink.
As with most spirits with a high degree of alcohol,
water can be added to soften the drink. To serve the
fine slightly chilled, just roll an ice cube around
in the glass, then remove it before pouring in the fine
– this allows you to control the amount of water
added. The fine de Bourgogne is also appreciated by
cigar-lovers and those who like fine spirits.
