The enchanting names of the vineyards
– Combettes (little coomb), Genièvrières
(place of junipers), Perrières (stony place) –
stem from man’s observation and knowledge of the
land hundreds of years ago. Many of these names are still
found all over Europe, having been noted down by Cistercian
and Benedictine monks.
Using traditional methods of working the land, we try
to bring these terroirs back to life, where our respect
for the balance of nature allows each parcel to express
its own character.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said "We did not inherit the
Earth from our forefathers, we are borrowing it from our
descendants."
